Tanya has been drawing and painting since 1996, in between working full-time  and running galleries and cafes in Millthorpe where she has lived for several years. Millthorpe has become an “artistic” village over the years and she has become one of the well known artists of the district.

Having no formal training in art, not even in high school, she has been self taught and has expanded her skills and talents by attending workshops and painting tours by some of Australia’s leading contemporary artists including Greg Allen, Colina Grant, Herman Pekel, Malcolm Beattie, Helen Cottle as well as local artists Joy Engelman, Larissa & Loretta Blake.

Her work has been  published in the “ Australian Artist”, September 2001 issue in” Studio Secrets of Australia’s top artists” and she has exhibited many times locally.

Her work is held in collections in Australia and overseas.

Her range of mediums include acrylics, pastels, watercolour, silk painting, photography, mosaics, sculpture, ceramics as well as jewellery making.

A passion for everything French including Monet and his water garden, is what has inspired her when she creates. This series is from her last painting trip to France in September 2010, where she re-ignited this passion and her love of the cafe culture in Paris.

She has an expressive style and her love of colour is evident, causing her to be called a colourist and a “Van Gogh” paced artist by her fellow peers.

Tanya is currently exhibiting at the Japanese Gardens, Cowra.
